Ready to Find a New Best Friend?
Choosing to add a pet to your family is a big decision. Pets add lots of laughter and fun to our lives, but they are also a big responsibility. Sometimes adopting a pet may be too much of a commitment if other life-changes are occurring at the same time. We take great care to make sure our animals find a loving, forever home. Take our “Ready to Find a New Best Friend Quiz” to see if this is a good time to add a pet to your family.

The Humane Bike Ride & Wine Tasting promises to be THE EVENT of the year for bike riding (or even wine drinking) enthusiasts. Please sign up to participate. There are three routes from which to choose: 18 miles, 30 miles, or 47 miles. The bike ride will begin at 8:30 a.m. Roads will be marked and maps will be provided. Rest stops will be set up along the routes to refresh the riders. Sag Wagons will be patrolling routes to assist any rider in need. All riders must wear a certified helmet and obey all traffic laws. Lunch will be provided followed by a wine tasting from Bruno & George Winery. (You must be at least 21 years of age to participate in the wine tasting.) Register anytime by mail (P. O. Box 52, Nome, TX 77629) or at Kickstand Bike Shop (6366 Phelan Blvd, Beaumont at the Collonade Shopping Center) or from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on August 15 at Sertinos Coffee Café (5657 Eastex Freeway, Beaumont) or from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. on August 16 at Bruno & George Winery (400 Messina Road, Sour Lake). Come on out and "peddle for the puppies!" $25 entry fee payable to Humane Society of Southeast Texas (which is tax deductible to the extent of the law for income tax purposes).
Our quarterly newsletter keeps members informed about what’s happening at the shelter. You can sign up to receive “Pawprints” by mail and you can also view it here online.
